Discussions surrounding what the hub could evolve into by 2045 included the airport’s strengths, thoughts on the return of scheduled services and opportunities for growth.

The future of flying

The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) has published a report in cooperation with young people think tank ThinkYoung called Expanding Horizons: How Millennials see the Future of Business Aviation. The survey asked young people aged 18-25 in Germany, France, the UK and Switzerland about mobility, business aviation and the future of sustainable personal air transport. DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) is a joint venture between DC Aviation, a leading German business jet operator and previously a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, and Al-Futtaim, a privately owned UAE business conglomerate.


DCAF is the first and only fully integrated business aviation facility based out of Al Maktoum International Airport located at Dubai South (formerly Dubai World Central) with a dedicated hangar measuring 5,700sqm and a 1,300sqm exclusive VVIP lounge area designed to international standards offering customers the highest levels of comfort and privacy, shower areas and a conference room. A second hangar will be completed in 2017 and will add 6,800 square meters (69,800 square feet) of covered space, bringing its total land-side plot area to 24,000 sq m (246,500 sq ft) and the apron area to 13,000 sq m (133,500 sq ft).

Through their line maintenance capabilities catering to various business jets; owners and operators receive a diverse range of maintenance services, from spare parts supply, procurement and storage, to maintenance and airworthiness certification.

The Aircraft Management division is helping business jet owners to optimize their aircraft assets, by operating aircraft in an environment in line with the highest industry standards with regards to flight safety and airworthiness. Clients also benefit from significant cost saving potential on insurance, fuel purchasing and other relevant flight support services.

Located in a prime position just off the airport’s runway, the DCAF hanger and 7,700sqm dedicated ramp parking enables them to support, maintain and operate private and businesses jets of all sizes. Along with the VVIP lounge, 24-hour on-site security, screening facilities, customs and immigration services customers are assured of a speedy and enjoyable travel experience.

DCAF currently manages 5 aircrafts, including two Bombardier Challenger 604, a Gulfstream G200, a Bombardier Global XRS and the Falcon 7X.
