Gulfstream Aerospace celebrates flight test program milestone

Gulfstream Aerospace has reflected on the first ten flight tests for the Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 jets. The jets are twin-engine, with the G500 replacing the G450. The G500 has a range of 5,000 nautical miles (9,260km) at Mach 0.85, with nonstop flights connecting distant cities such as Istanbul to Cape Town, Los Angeles to London, and San Francisco to Tokyo. The G600 can fly 4,800 nautical miles (8,890km) at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, and seats up to 19 passengers, with room for nine to sleep.

ExecuJet Europe adds first helicopter to managed fleet

ExecuJet Europe has added its first helicopter, the Eurocopter EC155, to its managed fleet at Cambridge Airport in the UK.

The EC155 helicopter is owned by a private client and has capacity for eight VIP passengers and two pilots. With a range of more than 500 miles, the aircraft will primarily be used for transfers to the City and surrounding airports, but has already operated transfers to Paris and Brussels.

John Brutnell, operations director of ExecuJet Europe, commented, “We are very pleased to be expanding our fleet and the inclusion of a helicopter at our London Cambridge FBO is a welcome addition to our managed aircraft. We are currently in discussions with other clients who wish to base helicopters here, so we hope to welcome more to Cambridge in the future.”

ExecuJet Europe has also employed a full-time helicopter pilot to head up the company’s London Cambridge FBO helicopter operations.
