Advanced air mobility infrastructure company UrbanV has signed a joint venture agreement with Signature Aviation to develop vertiport networks across the United States.
The partnership targets initial deployment in Florida, New York, California and Texas markets.
The joint venture will evaluate network planning, demand potential, infrastructure requirements and operational integration for vertiport development.
Financial modeling will support site selection across the identified markets and potential expansion areas.
Signature Aviation will integrate vertiports within its existing network of private aviation terminals and lead regulatory discussions with aviation authorities.
The partnership will engage with potential vertiport operators and advanced air mobility companies to accelerate adoption through strategic partnerships.
“This joint venture agreement is a major step in the development of advanced air mobility infrastructure for the United States,” said Carlo Tursi, chief executive at UrbanV. “We have the ambition to become a major global operator of vertiport networks and we will pioneer the establishment of some of the first advanced air mobility routes.”
Rome-based UrbanV specializes in advanced air mobility infrastructure development globally. Signature Aviation operates the world’s largest network of private aviation terminals, providing ground handling and support services across multiple countries.
“Our partnership with UrbanV elevates our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and most importantly, our guests,” said Tony Lefebvre, chief executive of Signature Aviation. “As we bring together our expertise, resources, and strategy, we’re focused on driving the adoption of advanced air mobility, while also establishing the safe, seamless, and efficient infrastructure needed for the development of vertiports.”
The joint venture addresses growing demand for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft operations in urban environments. Vertiports provide dedicated infrastructure for eVTOL aircraft charging, passenger boarding and maintenance operations.
