A specialist commercial and business aviation law firm, Avion Law, has launched in Newport Beach, California.
Headed up by renowned industry lawyer Richard Pearson, who is a licensed English solicitor as well as an attorney admitted to the State Bar of California, the company plans to develop a global clientele that it will advise on domestic and cross-border aircraft transactions.
Pearson, who has almost three decades of experience, relocated to California with his family in 2013, where he worked at the Santa Monica-based aviation law firm Aerlex Law Group. Before that, he spent 20 years in Paris, France, where he conceived, founded and developed the local office of Stephenson Harwood. His work has involved work with leasing companies, individuals, corporate flight departments, and charter companies, helping them with sales and purchasing, ownership structuring, and the financing, management and operation of business jets.
