Executive Aviation Services gains pet approval at Gloucestershire Airport

Executive Aviation Services has gained exclusive approval from the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for the UK’s Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) at Gloucestershire Airport, enabling domestic cats, dogs and ferrets to fly back from Europe, without quarantine, subject to clearing pet passport checks prior to departure and successful microchip check on arrival.

Under PETS, the team at Gloucestershire Airport will check the pet’s passport, travel credentials and microchip with the owner or the pet’s escort in the cabin. Once the paperwork has been cleared as required, the pet will be free to disembark. All applications to bring a pet into the UK under PETS regulations must be emailed to the Executive Aviation Services pet handling team at least 24 hours before flight departure.

Previously flights have had to fly back into the UK via Oxford or Bristol for pet clearance; this new approval will enable Executive Aviation Services’ clients to fly directly back from Europe to Gloucestershire Airport with their pets with no requirement to stop over for clearance on their return journey.

Currently Executive Aviation Services is the only approved operator into Gloucestershire Airport. However, other operators may apply to become approved from this point on. All aircraft arriving under the scheme must be operated under a commercial operator’s license; pet transport is not allowed on aircraft that are operated on a private basis only.
