The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has awarded its first certifications to service providers in Nice, southwest France, and Curaçao in the southern Caribbean Sea. Swissport Executive Aviation was honored for its FBO at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, earning itself an International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) award, while Curaçao Air Terminal Services (CATS), a ground handler, earned the same. The IS-BAH involves a complete audit of safety management systems, emergency procedures, administrative elements, security procedures, training protocols and more.

Aldo Salzillo, network quality manager of Swissport – which has more than 80 bases across 22 countries – said, “Achieving the IS-BAH certification sets the bar for the business line. This voluntary certification has required six months’ preparation and demonstrates our commitment to upholding the highest international safety standards. It will help us in maintaining our position as a main player in the business aviation handling industry.”

Ralph Blanchard, CEO of Curaçao Airport Partners, which works closely with CATS, added, “CATS has a very important role in our business as it provides excellent customer service to all our FBO customers. We are proud to work closely with its passionate and professional staff and we are pleased that our customers will have the added sense of comfort knowing that they are being served by a ground handler that has been certified to these highest standards.”
