Positive outlook for US business aviation flight activity

The latest ARGUS TRAQPak report has revealed that IFR flight activity in the USA, the Caribbean and Canada grew by 4.2% in June 2016 compared with June 2015, and rose by 1.8% in June compared with May.

Part 135 operators posted the largest monthly increase of 2.7% in June compared with May, while fractional and Part 91 sectors recorded rises of 1.1% and 1.5% respectively in the same period.

The turboprop market led the way for the largest monthly increase, up 4.3% in June compared with May, and the small and mid-sized cabin markets also posted increases – 1.7% and 0.3% respectively. The large cabin aircraft market was the only category to post a slight decrease of 0.6% for June compared with May.

Next month’s forecast estimates there will be a 0.6% increase in overall flight activity year over year in July 2016, and Q3 2016 will rise 3.9% over Q3 2015.
