Family-owned FBO opens in Alabama

Platinum Air Center is an independent, family-owned FBO that has opened at Jack Edwards Airport in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Part of the Paragon Network – a collective of independent FBOs that comply with core standards to become members – the facility offers a pilots’ lounge, flight planning room, work stations, wi-fi, a full-service concierge and NATA Safety 1st Certified Line Personnel.

Currently operating out of a temporary headquarters, with a US$5m facility and hangar opening in 2019, owners Arve and Emily Henriksen are looking to challenge the competition by offering attractive retail and fuel contract prices, selling fuel below margins. The Henriksens are well known in the FBO industry for their successful ventures in Mobile, Alabama and Gulfport, Mississippi, the latter being a joint venture with Million Air.

Arve Henriksen, owner and president of Platinum Air Center, said, “While Platinum Air Center is new, our management team has over 75 years of experience in the FBO business. We offer a new alternative for corporate aircraft operators at Gulf Shores. My team and I believe in maintaining exceptionally high standards, a philosophy that is promoted by the Paragon Network and its members. We are thrilled to finally be opening our doors to welcome customers we have known for years and to meeting many new ones.”
