Jet Aviation breaks ground on FBO renovation

Jet Aviation has broken ground on its new state-of-the-art FBO at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, USA. The two-phase, 12-month facility improvement project will increase hangar and ramp capacity as well as improve operational safety and efficiency.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certified facility will include a two-story 13,000ft² FBO, a 40,000ft² hangar capable of handling aircraft up to a Gulfstream G650 and a Global 6000, as well as a 16,000ft² office and shop space.

The plan also includes a 92,000ft² ramp and apron upgrade, new pavement and landscaping, and installation of a new roadway and utilities connecting to the facility. The project is expected to be completed by Q3 2016.

“We are delighted to be underway with construction and enhancements to our Boston/Bedford facility,” said John Langevin, vice president, FBO operations, North America, Jet Aviation. “Jet Aviation has worked diligently to bring this project forward and we are very excited to be taking the next step. This new, state-of-the-art FBO is designed to accommodate the needs of our customers and the expanded amenities enable us to do so well into the future.

“I would like to extend Jet Aviation’s gratitude to Massport and the local community for their support on this project. We worked hard to ensure this project is completed in an environmentally responsible manner and believe it will bring significant benefits to the surrounding area and those traveling through the region.”
