Signature Flight Support has opened a new FBO at Gerald R Ford International Airport in Michigan. The US$6m facility becomes part of Signature’s growing worldwide network with over 200 locations.

On offer at the new building are all of the usual executive aircraft handling facilities, including Jet-A fuelling, a concierge service, quick turnaround, a passenger lobby, a pilot lounge, office space, a VIP lounge, snooze rooms, a flight planning center, aircraft catering, hangar space and an executive conference room.

The design of the FBO consists of a single story building with an elevated double-height central entry and lobby space. The interior floor plan is designed for a highly efficient user circulation pattern along with standard Signature operations requirements.

Speaking at the official opening of the FBO, Maria A Sastre, president and chief operating officer for Signature Flight Support, said, “Today we are celebrating our newest location in our network. Signature has invested US$6m to build these facilities in Grand Rapids from a Greenfield site to include state-of-the-art technology, environmentally-friendly construction, and exclusive amenities to provide our customers, both pilots and passengers, with the world-class customer experience that Signature is known for around the globe.”
