Marathon Aviation joins Avfuel network

Marathon Aviation Associates (KMTH) has joined the Avfuel network, offering operators headed to Florida’s Middle Keys competitive fuel prices and loyalty rewards.

Marathon Aviation Associates is the sole operator at the Florida Keys Marathon International Airport, overseeing the operations of both FBOs on the field. Marathon General Aviation provides Avgas and Marathon Jet Center supplies jet fuel.

Marathon Aviation Associates fuels aircraft in the custom’s box, allowing for more efficient turns and waived customs fees with a fuel purchase.

Joel Hirst, Avfuel’s vice president of sales, commented, “Marathon Aviation Associates unlocks access to the Florida Keys for operators in the Avfuel Network in addition to serving as a key international gateway—this is a major strategic location and we see a lot of promising opportunity in this partnership. The Marathon team has an upstanding tradition of excellence, and we’re honored to be associated with that.”

Marathon Jet Center’s full-service FBO will finish construction on a new hangar this winter, in addition to a new FBO facility in the first quarter of 2019. Marathon Aviation Associates’ east Avgas facility is installing two new self-serve units in September, allowing two aircraft to fill up at once.

Martin Hiller, president at Marathon Aviation Associates, said, “This is an exciting time for Marathon Aviation Associates. We look forward to serving our customers with enhanced services and amenities through our partnership with Avfuel and our upcoming developments, making Marathon an ideal choice for their island vacation or mainland stopover.”
