Hampton Roads Executive Airport has formed a branding partnership with Avfuel Corporation.
The partnership provides the Chesapeake, Virginia-based facility with fuel supply and operational support, including FAA-approved line service and supervisory training. Operators fueling at Hampton Roads Executive Airport gain access to rewards through AVTRIP, contract fuel pricing and Avfuel Pro Card acceptance.
“Partnering with Avfuel marks a step in our journey,” said Steven Fox, managing member at Virginia Aviation Associates and owner of Hampton Roads Executive Airport. “We’re committed to raising the bar for every pilot, passenger and operator who chooses KPVG. Avfuel’s reputation for reliability, quality and aviation expertise aligns with our goals for growth and a high standard of service.”
The facility offers access to Avfuel’s sustainability tools including book and claim for sustainable aviation fuel and carbon offsetting. Two new Avfuel trucks are operating at the airport.
“We couldn’t be more proud to align Avfuel’s brand with that of Hampton Roads Executive Airport,” said Joel Hirst, senior vice president of sales at Avfuel. “KPVG has long held a reputation for outstanding customer care and is dedicated to investing in not only its airfield, but also the industry at large – a commitment Avfuel shares with its own investments and network-wide initiatives.”
Hampton Roads Executive Airport completed a US$20 million expansion project to open a 96,000 sq ft (8,919 sq m) jetport complex on the airfield. The complex includes eight 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m) corporate hangars and a full-service fixed-base operation.
The expansion brought total hangar space at the facility to over 500,000 sq ft (46,452 sq m). The airport supports more than 150 based aircraft and more than 90,000 annual aircraft operations.
Since acquiring the airport in 2000, the ownership group has invested more than US$80 million in infrastructure improvements at the privately owned, public-use reliever airport. Developments include a 5,350ft (1,631m) runway, parallel taxiway and hangar facilities on the 664-acre (269-hectare) airport.
Hampton Roads Executive Airport is developing facilities to accommodate electric and hydrogen aircraft and infrastructure for alternative fuel technologies. The facility ranks second among Virginia’s 57 general aviation airports and serves as home to over 30 aviation businesses.
Avfuel supplies fuel to the aviation industry through a fueling network of more than 3,500 locations worldwide and 700 branded fixed-base operations.
