The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) introduced its new CORE risk management initiative at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland.
The CORE risk management product is being developed for the fast-paced world of business aviation organizations involved in operations, ground handling services, aircraft maintenance, or small aerodrome operations.
CORE is focused on delivering a simple and solid risk management foundation for busy aviation companies seeking to establish or improve the structure of their safety practices, even for small organizations with limited team capacity.
In collaboration with IBAC’s member associations, the new CORE platform will involve a self-paced online pathway with practical tools and methods to organize existing risk management processes and procedures and help identify any gaps.
Upon completion, CORE subscribers will have developed the essential risk management framework to elevate their safety strategy.
Kurt Edwards, IBAC director general said, “Our member associations have felt strongly about the need for a simple, flexible risk management tool for their members, which was endorsed by the IBAC Governing Board this week. Many smaller organizations within the business aviation industry want to build a stronger foundation for managing safety but may be challenged by limitations of time and resources for non-core tasks. The CORE product is being designed as a resource for those looking for a solution to help them establish or improve existing safety practices and processes in a simple format and with tools to internally assess the organization’s progress.”
