Pentastar Aviation partners with Chicago Jet Group to provide CPDLC/FANS-1/A+ solution

Pentastar Aviation has entered into a strategic alliance with Chicago Jet Group to market and install the company’s Controller Pilot Data Link (CPDLC) Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Gulfstream aircraft.

FANS uses Data Link technology to allow position reporting and the ability for pilots to communicate clearly and directly with air traffic control via text messaging.

“Due to the expected increase in air traffic volume in coming years, aircraft without the CPDLC/FANS-1/A+ technology will be unable to operate in premium airspace,” said Greg Schmidt, Pentastar Aviation president CEO.

“Chicago Jet Group’s solution allows Gulfstream owners and operators to fly in this designated airspace, reducing fuel burn while achieving safer, clearer communications. Pentastar is pleased to be working with Chicago Jet Group to bring this solution to the marketplace.”

“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Mike Mitera, Chicago Jet Group director of operations. “Pentastar’s extensive experience and technical knowledge provides us the utmost confidence in the proper installation of our solution.”
