Croatian business aviation operator Jung Sky has recently celebrated turning 15.

The company started in 2009 with just couple of employees and providing panoramic flights with a Cessna 172.

Today, it employs 25 people, including seven pilots, and has two Cessna 525A CJ2 jets in the fleet.

The operator’s headquarters and aircraft base is in Croatia’s capital Zagreb, and in the last couple of years the company has also certified its own line maintenance in Zagreb and Varaždin and also a base maintenance station at Varazdin Airport, just 80 kilometres from Zagreb.

“Jung Sky is a highly respected brand in the business aviation industry. That’s not me doing marketing, it’s feedback we’re continuously receiving from our clients,” says Kresimir Jung, the company’s co-founder and one of Jung Sky’s captains. “Our mission is to be proud of the service we provide and to be the company everyone loves working with. I think we’ve had success in achieving that and it’s something everyone in the company takes great pride in.”

The operator performs around 1,400-1,500 flights per year, landing at more than 200 airports across Europe and is contracted by more than 200 different broker companies from around the world.

At the moment, 2024 is looking like it could be Jung Sky’s best year so far. In the first 10 months of 2024 the company’s sales department received a total of 76,430 inquiries through the Avinode platform which is 6.6% rise compared to the same period last year.

Jung Sky achieved record-breaking numbers of passenger flights this year in February, March, May, June and October. From Jan 1 to Oct 30, the company performed 619 passenger flights which represents a 20% increase from the average achieved in the same period from 2018 to 2023.

The flight-time of passenger flights in 10 months of 2024 was also record-breaking, superseding last year by 0.5% even though in 2023 the company had one more jet in the fleet for about three months. Compared to the first 10 months of 2022, when the jet count was equal to what it is today, passenger flight time this year has so far grown by 15.4%.

“I am proud of the fact that throughout these 15 years and despite all the difficulties we have faced, the company has achieved continuous growth and progress,” said co-founder and IT Manager Vedran Jung. “I am also very proud that everyone in our company, from top to bottom, are insisting on continuous efforts to improve the quality of our service even more, despite the very high bar set from the very beginning.”
