KlasJet has relocated one of its Boeing 737 aircraft to Milan Malpensa airport to meet increasing demand for VIP charter services in the region.
The business jet charter provider selected Milan for its strategic location and proximity to major European sporting events, particularly Formula One and MotoGP races held throughout Italy.
European VIP charter flight demand is growing at a projected CAGR of 9.89% until the end of the decade, with seasonal peaks during summer months when major sporting events are concentrated, said KlasJet
“Milan is a strategic point for both domestic and international travel,” said Valeria Prilipko, sales development manager at KlasJet. “The location allows fast access to major European hubs, while providing effective connectivity and quick access to other Italian cities.”
The company has positioned a Boeing 737-300 configured with 68 business-class seats at the Italian airport. A dedicated technician will be assigned to each flight to ensure reliability.
KlasJet already serves several major sports teams with charter flights that offer time efficiency by avoiding terminal queues and security procedures. The aircraft provides enhanced passenger comfort with additional legroom, specialized headrests, and dedicated catering services.
Prilipko said the company is increasingly serving not only teams but also groups of sports fans following their favorite clubs to away fixtures. The Milan-based aircraft will enable more flexible scheduling options.
“Last year we organized a series of flights for Tour de France fans, who were following the cyclists on a KlasJet plane,” Prilipko said. “The same principle could be applied to any motorsports event.”
The company has developed specialized itineraries for Formula 1 enthusiasts wanting to attend multiple race weekends throughout the season, with aircraft following the championship calendar.
Passengers traveling through Milan will experience Mediterranean-inspired catering prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, according to the company.
Milan’s high concentration of business headquarters, sports teams, and fashion and cultural events makes it “one of the most active cities for operations for KlasJet,” Prilipko added.
KlasJet is part of Avia Solutions Group, which operates in the ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) sector.
