The Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) is partnering with Swiss watchmaker Brietling to help promote education, innovation and CSR (corporate social responsibility) in the business aviation sector.

According to the AsBAA, which represents around 130 business and general aviation companies, the partnership is based upon a mutual commitment to the advancement of aviation innovation in business and general aviation.

Watchmaker Breitling invented the modern chronograph and the Emergency, said to be the world’s first wristwatch equipped with a integrated dual frequency personal locator beacon. The partnership will be announced on November 10 at the AsBAA Icons of Aviation Awards (IOA) in Hong Kong, China.

Guests will have an opportunity to enter a prize draw for the donated timepiece, the Colt Skyracer, named after the plane flying the Breitling colors in the Red Bull Air Race.

Jenny Lau, chairperson of the AsBAA, said, “We extend our sincere thanks to Breitling for their generosity in donating the Colt Skyracer, which will go toward raising essential funds for AsBAA’s chosen charity, Orbis Flying Eye Hospital.

“We are also excited about the new partnership in which there is much alignment between AsBAA and Breitling in relation to our respective projects on education, innovation and CSR. All of this is underlined by our shared passion for aviation. We look forward to working together.”
