Signature TECHNICAir, the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) division of Signature Flight Support, has been awarded Part 147 approval by the United Kingdom’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for aircraft type specific maintenance training.

Following several months pursuing the regulatory process that allows for training certification of aviation maintenance technicians, TECHNICAir is set to commence its first type training course for Part 66 licenced engineers at its Bournemouth, UK facility.

“The addition of UK CAA Part 147 approval to our business portfolio allows us to deliver cost-effective training to maintenance professionals,” explained Scott Corbett, Operations Director, Signature TECHNICAir. “Our tenured instructors have many years of experience, and access to active aircraft under maintenance in our Bournemouth hangar help translate theory into practice.”

Further expansion of aviation maintenance programmes will include general familiarisation and refresher courses tailored to technicians needs and levels of expertise.
