Survey: Business aviation and climate change

0

Business aviation is coming under increased criticism from environmental lobby groups for its impact on climate change, often through a media eager to depict it as a service exclusively for the super-rich.

Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Taylor Swift are causing online outrage for using aircraft to make short trips most would use cars for, and flaunting their private jet usage on social media.

Meanwhile, political support for the sector may be shifting in some regions. Last year French transport minister Clément Beaune called for flights by private jets in Europe to be restricted (paywall) and more recently the high-profile World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland has come under fire for the increase in business jet traffic the conference causes.

It’s never been more important that business and private aviation communicates its value clearly and shows it is taking action on environmental issues.

We’d like to know if you think it is being successful in this mission.
