FAI Air Ambulance has been nominated as one of three finalists in the Air Ambulance Company of the Year category of the International Travel & Health Insurance Journal (ITIJ) Awards 2025.
This marks the seventh consecutive nomination for FAI, which won the award in 2012, 2020 and 2021. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Venice, Italy, on November 6 during the annual ITIC Global Conference.
The ITIJ Awards are judged by an independent panel using a scoring card system. Volker Lemke, managing director at FAI Medical Services, said the nomination underscores the company’s service quality and ability to mobilize quickly in emergency and medical repatriation flights.
The nomination follows FAI’s Most Innovative Air Ambulance Service award win at the Middle East Aviation Business Awards in December 2024. According to FAI, the company has completed nearly 800 air ambulance missions over the past 12 months.
FAI operates a 10-aircraft Bombardier fleet comprising Learjet 60, Challenger 604 and Global Express aircraft, all equipped with medical technology for medevac missions. The air ambulance operation is supported by more than 70 part-time physicians, nurses and paramedics.
FAI Aviation Group operates Germany’s largest fleet of Bombardier business jets from its Nuremberg headquarters, which includes a 10,000 square meter (107,639 square feet) carbon-neutral fixed-base operation. The company employs close to 300 people, including approximately 80 at its maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Nuremberg. According to FAI, the group’s consolidated revenues in 2024 were €130 million (US$144 million) with fleet utilization exceeding 12,000 flight hours.
