DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), a joint venture between Dubai-based Al-Futtaim group and Germany’s DC Aviation, has confirmed the opening of its second hangar on the inaugural day of the Dubai Airshow on November 12.

The 7,500m² (80,729ft²) hangar will more than double the current hangar capacity, creating a total landside plot area 24,000m² (258,333ft²) and apron area to 13,000m² (139,930ft²). The new hangar will enable DCAF to add two new single-aisle aircraft maintenance bays, and provide enough space for an additional workshop and equipment storage.

It will also increase the number and size of aircraft that can be accommodated at the facility, and help DCAF further expand its maintenance offering.

Holger Ostheimer, managing director of DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, said, “We are excited to be opening our second hangar during the Dubai Airshow. Since commencing operations in November 2013, we have seen our business grow steadily year-on-year. With the new hangar, we will be able to meet the growing demand for business and private jet operations in the aviation district at Dubai South for years to come.

“In addition to the opening of our second hangar, we are also excited to participate at Dubai Airshow 2017. We look forward to showcasing our unique luxury services and VIP lounges offering immediate access to client aircraft and absolute discrete and maximum privacy.

“DCAF is the only fully integrated business aviation facility at Al Maktoum International Airport. We welcome all visitors to our stand where the team will be on hand to discuss our services and offerings as well as inviting to see our operations in close vicinity to the show ground.”
