Aerovolt and 3 Legs Aviation Services launch electric aircraft charging at Isle of Man Airport

Aerovolt UK , a developer of smart aircraft charging networks and 3 Legs Aviation Services; a light aircraft handling provider, based on the Isle of Man, have announced a strategic partnership to introduce electric aircraft charging solutions at Isle of Man Airport (Ronaldsway Airport).

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing sustainable aviation infrastructure for the Island.

Aerovolt plans to install a fixed 44kW AS6968 charging point at Ronaldsway Airport to support aircraft charging, flight training, business, and commercial aviation operations at the airport.

In addition to establishing the charging infrastructure, Aerovolt and 3 Legs Aviation Services will explore the feasibility of introducing electric flight training programs at the airport.

This initiative aligns with both companies’ commitment to promoting environmentally friendly aviation practices and reducing carbon emissions.

“We are excited to partner with 3 Legs Aviation Services to bring cutting-edge electric aircraft charging solutions to the Isle of Man,” said Philip Kingsley-Dobson, founder of Aerovolt UK. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to expanding the UK’s electric aircraft charging network and supporting the transition to zero-emission aviation.”

Mark Langley, founder of 3 Legs Aviation Services said, “Our partnership with Aerovolt represents a significant step forward in enhancing the sustainability of aviation services at Ronaldsway Airport. By providing electric aircraft charging facilities, we are paving the way for a greener future in aviation on the Isle of Man.”

This initiative is part of Aerovolt’s broader mission to deploy a global network of chargers for electric aircraft, eVTOLs, and drones, working alongside manufacturers, regulators, and airport operators to facilitate the growth of zero-emission aviation. The company’s efforts have already seen the successful installation of charging systems at multiple UK airports, contributing to the development of sustainable air transportation infrastructure.
