Equinox Charter has appointed Volker Meissner as senior air charter strategist, marking a key stage in the company’s expansion and continued investment in client-focused service delivery.
With more than 30 years of experience across charter brokering, compliance and sales leadership, Meissner brings extensive industry expertise to the role. He will support Equinox Charter’s growing portfolio of corporate and private clients, combining a deep understanding of business aviation with the company’s personal approach to service.
Meissner previously held a senior sales leadership position at ARGUS International, where he oversaw business aviation activities across the EMEA region. During his tenure, he helped develop the Certified Air Charter Broker Program — an initiative designed to promote transparency and raise professional standards in charter brokerage. Equinox Charter recently renewed its certification under the program following an on-site audit.
Before joining ARGUS, Meissner founded and led Aviation Charter Ltd, a brokerage he managed for nearly a decade. He also served as deputy chairman and council member of The Air Charter Association (formerly BACA), where he contributed to the creation of broker training and accreditation programs that continue to shape industry best practice.
“What drew me to Equinox is its commitment to excellence and a mindset that never seems to stand still,” said Meissner. “My focus will be on building on that foundation, continually raising standards and finding new ways to deliver value and confidence to clients.”
Elliot Bottomley, managing director at Equinox Charter, added, “Having Volker join us is a major milestone for Equinox. His knowledge, credibility and commercial acumen will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our presence across multiple sectors and expand our client base.”
Alongside Meissner’s appointment, Giovanni (Gio) Manzella has been promoted from operations manager to head of operations. Since joining Equinox, he has advanced the company’s operational systems to ensure each flight is delivered with precision and consistency.
“Gio’s promotion is thoroughly deserved,” said Ian Patterson, CEO at Equinox Charter. “His discipline, attention to detail and problem-solving skills in a world of complex flight operations make him an invaluable asset. Having Gio lead our operations ensures we maintain our reputation for reliability and client focus as we continue to grow.”
With both appointments, Equinox Charter is reinforcing the commercial and operational foundations of its business, positioning the company to meet increasing demand from corporate and private clients.
