Two major software companies offering data solutions for the aviation industry have merged. Satcom Direct (SD), based Melbourne, Florida, produces SD Pro, launched in March 2016, which compiles essential data for flight departments, displaying it in real time, with an on-screen dashboard that can be customized according to specific roles. The company has acquired AircraftLogs, founded in 2005 and based in Columbus, Ohio, which provides web-based aviation data management solutions for corporate and private aircraft.

Not only are the companies coming together, but so too are their products, with AircraftLogs adding key features and functionality to the SD Pro platform. This will include scheduling and tax reporting services, in which AircraftLogs is a market leader, with many flight departments already using the software.

Doug Stewart, president of AircraftLogs, said, “We are thrilled to be joining the SD family. SD leads the aviation communications industry, and with the addition of AircraftLogs we can provide the best solutions of any company in our industry.”

Jim Jensen, founder and CEO of SD, added, “The flight starts with the schedule and ends with the tax reporting. AircraftLogs gives SD, and our SD Pro management platform, a total solution that corporate flight departments have been asking for, allowing them to always be in sync with their aircraft.”
