AXIS Aviation has reported charter demand for Mediterranean destinations during summer 2025, with French Riviera locations among the most requested.

Fleet movement data from June to September 2025 shows private jet demand for the French Riviera, with Toulon-Hyères and Nice among frequent destinations. Paris-Le Bourget also ranked as a destination, reflecting France as a leisure and business aviation hub following introduction of a Solidarity Tax.

Gareth Owen, head of charter sales at AXIS Aviation, said clients requested Mediterranean coastal destinations and transatlantic routes. “Our clients look for exclusive, flexible travel,” Owen said. “The French Riviera, Mykonos and Santorini are evergreen favourites, but we’ve also seen a clear rise in demand for one-way charters.”

According to AXIS Aviation, travelers requested coastal Mediterranean destinations including Mykonos, Santorini and Tivat. The company reported an increase in one-way bookings, particularly for transatlantic routes to New York, Miami and the Bahamas.

Owen said clients continue requesting long-range jets including the Gulfstream G650 and G550 for longer routes to Miami and Middle East destinations. The aircraft provide operational capabilities for extended-range charter flights.

Kerstin Mumenthaler, chief executive officer of AXIS Aviation, said charter demand remained consistent despite economic conditions. “Despite ongoing political and economic uncertainty worldwide, charter demand remains strong,” Mumenthaler said. “Our clients are seeking both leisure escapes and reliable business connections, with destinations across the Middle East and Southern Africa also accounting for a large proportion of charter flights this summer.”

AXIS Aviation operates aircraft management and charter services across Europe. According to the company, its fleet strategy supports travelers across Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and the Americas.

The summer charter period reflected demand patterns for both short-haul Mediterranean routes and long-haul transatlantic destinations. AXIS Aviation provides charter services through its European operational base.
