Gama Aviation has confirmed construction progress on its Business Aviation Centre at Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates, scheduled for completion in early 2026.
The facility occupies a site of over 80,000 square meters (861,113 square feet) within Sharjah International Airport. Gama Aviation has operated fixed-base operator services at Sharjah International Airport since 2014.
Marwan Khalek, group chief executive officer of Gama Aviation, said the investment supports regional aviation infrastructure development. “Our investment in Sharjah underlines our confidence in both the emirate and the region’s aviation future,” Khalek said. “It supports the UAE’s Vision 2030 framework by delivering world-class aviation infrastructure and creating high-value employment, while giving our clients an efficient, well-connected alternative to more congested hubs.”
The Business Aviation Centre includes a 3,000-square-meter (32,292-square-foot) terminal with private lounges, relaxation suites, observation bar and hospitality facilities. The facility features a 12,000-square-meter (129,167-square-foot) hangar for aircraft parking, storage and line maintenance with wide-span doors, direct apron access and capacity for multiple large-cabin jets.
Tom Murphy, managing director of fixed-base operator services at Gama Aviation, said the facility addresses client operational requirements. “The Sharjah Business Aviation Centre will set a new benchmark for private aviation in the Middle East and beyond,” Murphy said. “We are not building this facility to meet expectations — we are designing it to exceed them.”
The facility includes self-maneuvering apron, dedicated fueling and ground support equipment, and maintenance repair and overhaul infrastructure. Crew amenities include rest suites, 24-hour dining facilities, briefing rooms and priority parking adjacent to the terminal.
According to Gama Aviation, the facility’s line maintenance operations will hold approvals for multiple original equipment manufacturer aircraft types, with planned capability expansion. The hangar design accommodates engineering teams, tooling, parts storage and client viewing areas.
The Business Aviation Centre development follows the announcement of Dubai International Airport’s planned closure and future consolidation of operations at Dubai World Central. According to Gama Aviation, the Sharjah facility provides an operational alternative for business aviation operators and owners.
Gama Aviation operates across five divisions including aircraft management and charter, fixed-base operations, maintenance repair and overhaul, special mission operations, and technology and outsourcing services. The company operates fixed-base operator facilities at Sharjah, Glasgow, Scotland, and Jersey, Channel Islands.
