German aviation start-up flyvbird has partnered with air operator flYellow to launch on-demand flight services from Germany starting in September.
The collaboration will use Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft operating under flYellow’s Air Operator Certificate. Initial routes will connect regional airports including Friedrichshafen, Mönchengladbach, Münster/Osnabrück, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Hof-Plauen Airport and Berlin Strausberg according to flyvbird chief executive Tomislav Lang.
Passengers can submit booking requests through flyvbird’s platform with first flights scheduled for September. The Cessna Caravan will serve charter flights and on-demand services with individual seat bookings.
FlYellow operates from Passau, Germany and brings operational expertise to the partnership. Flyvbird provides the digital platform for booking and flight coordination services.
“With flYellow, we have found an operational partner who shares our mission: to redefine regional flying—more flexible, sustainable, and customer-centric,” said Tomislav Lang, chief executive of flyvbird.
“Our cooperation with flyvbird demonstrates how combining innovation with experience can drive the future of aviation,” said Harald Eichberger, managing director of flYellow.
According to flyvbird, plans for expansion including additional aircraft and network routes are underway. The partnership targets regional air mobility through digital booking platforms and operational integration.
