Gulfstream Aerospace has completed its 100th installation of Starlink in-flight connectivity, less than a year after receiving US Federal Aviation Administration approval to equip its aircraft with the system. The milestone installation took place on a G650ER at the company’s Fort Worth Alliance Service Center in Texas.
The manufacturer secured supplemental type certification for Starlink on the G650 and G650ER last year. Since then, approval has been expanded to include the G800, G700, G600, G500, G550 and GV, with more certifications planned. Customers also have the option to include Starlink on in-production G800, G700, G600 and G500 aircraft.
“No one knows Gulfstream aircraft better than we do, and by providing these additional certified installation capabilities within our facilities, customers can work directly with our experts,” said Lor Izzard, senior vice president, Gulfstream customer support. “We value customers’ trust in our team as we continue to deliver a seamless, safe and high-quality service experience.”
According to Gulfstream, Starlink enables passengers to access video calls, cloud-based applications and data transfers simultaneously. The system delivers download speeds of 100–250Mbps with latency below 90 milliseconds, enabling near real-time connectivity.
The installation program is part of Gulfstream’s wider effort to integrate advanced connectivity across its fleet, supported by its global customer support network. Customers interested in upgrading can coordinate installations directly through Gulfstream.
