Cleveland-based Flexjet has introduced the Gulfstream G700 to its fractional ownership program, offering immediate access without manufacturer wait times.
Flexjet launched the program with three G700 aircraft, valued at US$96 million each, with plans to operate all three by year-end. The company bypasses the multi-year manufacturer backlog for the aircraft, which remains in limited global circulation.
The G700 features a range of 7,750 nautical miles (14,350km) and cruising speed of 567 knots. The aircraft accommodates up to 15 passengers plus cabin crew in an interior measuring 6ft 3in (1.90m) in height with 20 panoramic windows.
“True to the belief that history favours the bold, we continue to bring to market a level of luxury, service and prestige that is simply not available from any other fractional provider and the G700 is the latest example,” said Kenn Ricci, chairman of Flexjet.
The cabin features four distinct zones designed for work, dining, rest and recreation. Overnight flight accommodations include a private bedroom, lie-flat seats and convertible divan arrangements. The aircraft supports augmented crew operations for nonstop long-haul flights.
According to Flexjet, the G700 operates with a cabin altitude of 2,840ft (866m) at 41,000ft (12.5km) cruise altitude, approximately 20% lower than competing aircraft including the Global 7500. The aircraft includes circadian lighting systems designed to reduce jet lag and a plasma ionization air system that refreshes cabin atmosphere every two to three minutes.
Michael Silvestro, chief executive officer of Flexjet, said market demand continues growing for larger aircraft with extended range capabilities. “From the Baby Boomers to Gen Xers to corporate flight departments, the desire for larger aircraft that can fly longer distances continues to grow,” Silvestro said.
The G700 will operate under Flexjet’s Red Label program, which provides dedicated flight crews and cabin servers trained at the company’s academy near London, England. Red Label owners receive access to aircraft with LXi Cabin Collection interiors and Starlink connectivity.
Flexjet operates more than 340 aircraft globally, including more than 60 large-cabin aircraft comprising Gulfstream G450s, G650s and the new G700 fleet. The company received an US$800 million equity investment this year from a consortium led by L Catterton, an LVMH affiliate.
The G700 introduction supports Flexjet’s 30th anniversary year operations. According to the company, the investment represents the largest equity funding round in private aviation history.
