Broomfield, Colorado-based Gogo has received Federal Aviation Administration supplemental type certification for its Galileo HDX terminal on Dassault Falcon 2000 aircraft.
The certification covers Falcon 2000EX, EX, EASy, DX, LX, LXS and S variants for government, executive and private operations. Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock, Arkansas, collaborated with Gogo on the modification approval, which is available through Dassault and its Authorized Service Center network.
The HDX terminal uses Eutelsat OneWeb’s low-earth orbit satellite constellation to provide internet connectivity during all flight phases. According to Gogo, the system enables passengers to access email, video conferencing and internet applications from multiple devices simultaneously.
Chris Moore, chief executive officer of Gogo, said the Falcon 2000 represents the target market for Galileo HDX development. “A popular choice in the super mid-size market, the Falcon 2000 is exactly the type of aircraft we developed Gogo Galileo HDX to serve,” Moore said. “We are proud to have worked alongside Dassault Falcon on the STC and excited to see Gogo Galileo support owners and operators in this segment.”
The retrofit installation requires two line replaceable units, the HDX antenna and AVANCE platform. Moore said the installation helps retain aircraft asset value, enhances passenger experience and supports flight operations efficiency.
The certification represents the first HDX supplemental type certification for a Dassault Falcon business jet. The system includes 24/7 global customer support and connectivity management services.
According to Gogo and Dassault, supplemental type certification for the Galileo HDX on Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft is expected before year-end. The companies anticipate expanding certification coverage across additional Dassault Falcon variants.
The modification enables aircraft owners and operators to upgrade connectivity systems with minimal installation requirements. The HDX terminal provides enterprise-standard low-earth orbit connectivity backed by Gogo’s customer support infrastructure.
