Skymark Refuelers has launched a 7,000-gallon all-electric aircraft refueler in partnership with World Fuel Services and Clay Lacy Aviation. The vehicle represents the largest electric refueling capacity deployed in United States aviation operations.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based manufacturer designed the refueler to advance sustainable fueling operations at airports nationwide. Clay Lacy Aviation will deploy the vehicle in active operations, supported by World Fuel Services.
The refueler features an all-electric drivetrain that delivers zero-emission fueling operations. A power take-off shaft-driven pump ensures fuel transfer reliability and efficiency.
The vehicle complies with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards and includes a thermal management system to protect performance and extend component life. Smart monitoring and built-in safety systems enhance operational visibility and control.
“Working alongside World Fuel Services and Clay Lacy Aviation, we are excited to introduce this EV Refueler to the market,” said Steven Paul, chief executive officer of Skymark Refuelers. “This partnership represents a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering safe, efficient fueling solutions for the aviation industry.”
The 7,000-gallon capacity supports a full range of aircraft fueling requirements. The electric drivetrain eliminates emissions during ground support operations.
“This achievement showcases World Fuel’s dedication to developing solutions that help decarbonize aviation and assist our customers in reaching their environmental objectives,” said Stephanie Bryant Jordan, vice president of sales at World Fuel Services. “By investing in technologies like this electric refueler, we are accelerating the transition to lower-carbon airport fueling operations.”
Clay Lacy Aviation established its sustainability program in 2019. The company operates fixed-base operator (FBO) facilities at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, and Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut.
“This refueler sets a new standard in all-electric ground service equipment and allows us to best serve our clients while being a good neighbor to the communities surrounding our airports,” said Doug Wilson, chief business officer for Clay Lacy Aviation FBOs.
Skymark Companies manufactures specialized trucks for industries worldwide. World Fuel Services, headquartered in Miami, Florida, operates as a World Kinect company and sells liquid fuels, operational services and sustainability solutions through its marine and aviation divisions.
Clay Lacy Aviation, founded in 1968, provides aircraft management, charter, maintenance, avionics and FBO services. The company operates Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 maintenance centers in Los Angeles and Oxford, Connecticut.
