French hydrogen-electric aircraft developer Beyond Aero has appointed Luxaviation Group as the launch operator for its six-passenger business aircraft, as the program moves towards certification and entry into service.
The collaboration will focus on operational readiness, including defining mission profiles and priority routes based on existing customer demand, assessing airport and FBO readiness for hydrogen infrastructure, developing operational procedures and safety frameworks, and evaluating fleet integration scenarios.
Beyond Aero is developing a hydrogen-electric business aircraft designed to carry six passengers up to 800nm (1,500km). The company, founded in 2020 and based in Toulouse with offices in Paris and Los Angeles, has completed its preliminary design review (PDR), validated its hydrogen-electric propulsion system at TRL6 and completed France’s first manned hydrogen-electric flight. It has secured over US$50 million in funding and US$1.5 billion in letters of intent.
“Introducing a new propulsion system into business aviation requires operational discipline as much as technological innovation,” said Eloa Guillotin, CEO of Beyond Aero. “Partnering with Luxaviation ensures that hydrogen-electric propulsion is prepared for real missions, real operators and real regulatory conditions.”
Caroline Demsar, CEO of Luxaviation France/Malta/Portugal, said: “Partnering with Beyond Aero enables us to explore hydrogen-electric propulsion in a practical, responsible way, aligned with our long-term sustainability ambitions and operational excellence.”
The collaboration is expected to progress toward demonstration flights and operational validation under EASA frameworks. Luxaviation is headquartered in Luxembourg and operates aircraft management, charter and FBO services across five continents, with a network of more than 110 FBO facilities.
