Stellar Aviation has broken ground on a 35,000sq ft (3,252sq m) hangar and office complex at Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), the company’s second facility of that size on the airport’s northeast quadrant. A further 100,000sq ft (9,290sq m) mixed-use general aviation development is planned for early 2027.
The new building includes 30,000sq ft (2,787sq m) of hangar storage designed for today’s largest long-range business jets, 5,000sq ft (465sq m) of office and shop space and covered vehicle parking. It sits alongside an identical sister hangar next to Stellar’s recently completed FBO executive terminal.
Stellar now leases and manages 80 hangars at RNO totaling more than 250,000sq ft (23,226sq m). Beyond its main FBO, the company operates two additional terminals on the field handling on-demand charter, special events, medical, government and military flights. Stellar also operates an FBO at Carson City Airport (CXP) approximately 30 miles south, giving operators a single FBO partner across northern Nevada.
“The airport authority is making a major investment in commercial and cargo infrastructure, and Stellar is committed to matching that on the general aviation side,” said Brad Kost, chief operating officer of Stellar Aviation. “This hangar is about making sure our FBO facilities keep pace with demand.”
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority has more than US$1 billion in infrastructure improvements under construction. Stellar is a member of the AEG Connect network.
