Air Charter Scotland has achieved 98% dispatch reliability on the Wick-Aberdeen-Wick PSO route over its first four months of operation with the 18-seat Jetstream J32.
The operator has made adjustments to the timetable for the summer period, with Monday to Thursday departures from Wick at 08:00 and a return from Aberdeen at 13:00. Friday services depart Wick at 18:00 with an Aberdeen return at 19:30, while Sunday flights leave Wick at 15:00 and return from Aberdeen at 16:30. The changes are aimed at benefiting commuters, including those in the oil and gas sector, and weekend leisure passengers.
“Our goal taking on this vital Public Service Obligation route was to be consistently reliable and deliver a quality service,” said Derek Thomson, COO of Air Charter Scotland. “I’m most grateful to our operations, ground handling team and our AOC partner AIS Airlines in the Netherlands for working so closely together to achieve a strong dispatch rate.”
Signature Aviation at Aberdeen Airport has expanded its ground services to support the scheduled flights at the main terminal. Jeremy Fish, general manager of Signature Aviation at Aberdeen Airport, said: “This route adds essential connectivity between communities and businesses across the Highlands and Islands.”
Wick arrivals in Aberdeen are timed for onward connections to London Heathrow with British Airways, Amsterdam with KLM and Manchester with Loganair.
