Ocean Aviation, backed by Kennedy Lewis Investment Management, has acquired National Jets at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (KFLL), its second South Florida location alongside a greenfield development at Miami Executive Airport (KTMB).
National Jets, which has operated at Fort Lauderdale for more than 60 years, will continue under its established name with full continuity of service for tenants, clients and staff. The facility sits on an approximately 20-acre leasehold.
Ocean Aviation will begin a phased redevelopment including a large communal hangar, two private hangars, a new terminal with executive offices and a fuel farm, all designed to accommodate aircraft up to large-cabin business jets. The existing facility will remain operational during the first phase. Once fully developed, the KFLL facility is projected to reach over 150,000sq ft (13,935sq m) of hangar capacity, more than six times its current footprint.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ranks among the top 15 US general aviation airports by fuel volume and top 20 by total departures.
“National Jets has built an outstanding reputation over more than six decades at Fort Lauderdale, and we are honored to carry that legacy forward,” said Romain Grosjean, chairman of Ocean Aviation. “Combined with our development at Miami Executive Airport, Ocean Aviation is now developing two of the premier private aviation gateways in South Florida.”
Ocean Aviation was established in 2024 with a 40-year, 40-acre ground lease at KTMB, where plans include up to 400,000sq ft (37,161sq m) of hangar space, a terminal and fuel farm. The two locations together create a dual-airport network serving the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market.
