Jet Aviation is marking 20 years of maintenance, repair and overhaul and fixed-base operation services in Dubai.
The Basel, Switzerland-based company opened a facility at Dubai International Airport in 2005 to offer fixed-wing maintenance capabilities and VIP handling. The expansion followed Jet Aviation’s initial entry into the Middle East through Saudi Arabia in 1979.
“The United Arab Emirates has always been an important part of the Jet Aviation story,” said Vincent Rongier, senior vice president regional operations EMEA at Jet Aviation. “We have been supporting local customers in the region with maintenance, completions, management and FBO services since our beginnings. Over the decades we have evolved and expanded these services and now offer support in fixed-wing and rotary-wing maintenance, FBO and aircraft services.”
Jet Aviation opened a second fixed-base operation at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South in 2012. The facility moved to its current location in the shared VIP terminal in 2017.
The company acquired Hawker Pacific in 2018. The acquisition included a rotary-wing business consisting of a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, aircraft sales, aftermarket spares sales and support, and RBIH Dubai, which offers blade repair in partnership with Bell Textron.
Jet Aviation was appointed as a Pilatus PC-12 Service Center in 2022. The company was appointed as an authorized warranty and Crystal Care service provider for the Pilatus PC-24 in 2024. The facility was also appointed as an Authorized Service Center for the Gulfstream G700 in 2024.
“None of this would have been possible without the support and trust of our customers, partners, and employees in the region,” said Hardy Butschi, vice president regional operations in the Middle East and general manager at Jet Aviation Dubai. “On behalf of Jet Aviation, I extend my gratitude to all of those who have been on this journey with us and continue to work with us as we plan for the future.”
Jet Aviation Dubai offers maintenance, refurbishment and modification for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, in addition to two fixed-base operation facilities and aircraft services. Jet Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics with over 4,500 employees and 50 locations worldwide.
The company provides aircraft management, sales, charter, completions, government programs, fixed-base operations, maintenance and staffing services.
