Signature Aviation has acquired Fort Lauderdale Executive Jet Center at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Florida.
The transaction completed on October 31 includes a 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) terminal and over 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sq m) of hangar and office space on 15 acres (6 hectares). The facility joins Signature Aviation’s network of more than 200 locations in 27 countries.
“We’re excited to welcome Fort Lauderdale Executive Jet Center into the Signature family and network,” said Tony Lefebvre, chief executive at Signature Aviation. “Our focus on elevating every moment for our guests is at the forefront of everything we do, and we’re excited to expand our network access in South Florida with our Signature hospitality, service, and team member experience.”
The acquisition expands Signature Aviation’s South Florida operations to seven locations. The company operates facilities at Boca Raton Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport, Miami Executive Airport, Opa-Locka Executive Airport and Palm Beach International Airport.
Marshall Myles, chief executive at Fort Lauderdale Jet Center, said the company looked forward to seeing how Signature Aviation continues to grow the location. Fort Lauderdale Executive Jet Center has operated at the airport for 25 years.
“Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport serves as a gateway to South Florida,” said Rufus James, airport director at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. “The addition of Signature Aviation is vital to sustaining and enhancing the region’s economic growth by attracting more business to the Airport, increasing accessibility, and strengthening South Florida’s appeal for investment, tourism, and business development.”
Signature Aviation will work with the Fort Lauderdale Executive Jet Center team on site plans and branding updates in the coming months. According to Signature Aviation, the company will modernize the terminal to improve operations and expand facility capabilities.
The company plans to open its third terminal at Palm Beach International Airport in the coming weeks.
