The British Business and General Aviation Association has presented Paul Cremer with its Contribution to Industry Award 2025, recognising 43 years of experience in general and business aviation.
Aoife O’Sullivan, chair of BBGA, presented the award at The Little Ship Club in London on 3 December in front of more than 140 industry attendees.
Cremer is head of aviation delivery for Gama Aviation Group, a position he has held within a company he joined in 1997. He began his career in the early 1980s at Fairoaks Airport in Surrey as ground crew before progressing to air traffic roles, becoming senior aerodrome flight information service officer. He held a similar position at Blackbushe Airport before joining Gama Aviation as operations manager.
His career has encompassed air traffic, operations, aircraft management, air ambulance, ground operations, continuing airworthiness management organisation work, charter sales, maintenance control centre coordination, aviation software and contract management.
In 2023 Cremer became chair of BBGA’s Operations Working Group, succeeding Wally Epton. He expanded the group’s reach by introducing regional meetings alongside London gatherings and securing regular attendance from the Department for Transport, UK Border Force and UK Civil Aviation Authority.
“Paul is a passionate advocate for the sector and tenacious champion of the industry, with an energy and enthusiasm that are truly remarkable,” said Marwan Khalek, group chief executive of Gama Aviation. “Over the years he has become a trusted advisor for operators and industry partners seeking thoughtful counsel and seasoned experience.”
Khalek and Steve Wright knew Cremer from the early days at Fairoaks when Gama Aviation was established in 1983.
Mathea Head, sales manager at myairops, credited Cremer with helping her understand the aviation industry when she joined Gama Aviation. “Paul is a brilliant mentor – patient, dedicated, and passionately committed to helping others progress,” she said.
Luxaviation sponsored the award.
BBGA represents nearly 200 companies across the business aviation sector, including airports, FBOs, corporate flight departments, operators, aviation services organisations and aircraft and powerplant manufacturers. The association, formerly known as GAMTA, marks its 50th year of operations in 2026.
