Modern Aviation has opened a new hangar and fully renovated FBO terminal at Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) in Westhampton Beach, New York, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on June 25.
The new hangar provides approximately 30,475sq ft (2,831sq m) of heated hangar space with 2,250sq ft (209sq m) of attached Class A office space. The facility features a 28ft (8.5m) door clearance, direct ramp access and climate-controlled hangar space, serving corporate flight departments, Part 91 and Part 135 operators and aviation service providers.
The development is located adjacent to the airport’s US Customs and Border Protection office and benefits from access to the airport’s 9,000ft (2,743m) runway.
“This investment reflects our commitment to the markets and communities we serve and strengthens our ability to provide customers with the high-quality facilities, convenience and outstanding service they expect from Modern Aviation,” said Mark Carmen, president and CEO.
The ribbon-cutting was attended by Suffolk County executive Ed Romaine, local airport management and state and local elected officials.
Modern Aviation operates 19 FBO locations across the US and Puerto Rico. The Gabreski opening follows the company’s recent groundbreaking on a two-hangar complex at Meacham International Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.
