Archer Aviation launches multi-state flight tour ahead of LA28 Games

Archer Aviation has launched its “No Roads” flight tour, a multi-state city-to-city flight test program for its Midnight eVTOL aircraft, beginning in Northern California and expanding to Los Angeles, Texas and Florida.

The tour follows more than 70 completed test flights in August and a recent piloted roundtrip between Salinas Municipal Airport and Monterey Regional Airport. Initial flights will cover routes to Hollister, Monterey, San Martin, San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco before moving to the Los Angeles area.

The flights are coordinated with the FAA and are designed to advance Archer’s operational readiness as the official air taxi provider of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and as a participant in the White House’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). The tour will feature routes that take an hour or more by car but 10 to 20 minutes by air.

“This is the beginning of that story and our biggest step yet toward making air taxis an everyday reality in cities across America,” said Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer.

Archer also plans to unveil charging locations across multiple states during the tour as part of its ACES (America’s Consortium for Electric Skyways) program with BETA Technologies and Macquarie Capital, which aims to bring interoperable charging to 250 aviation sites across the US by 2030.

Archer’s Midnight is a piloted, four-passenger all-electric aircraft designed for rapid back-to-back urban flights with zero operating emissions.
